'Private Practice': Addison And Jake's Wedding Will Be Featured In Series Finale (REPORT)

Addison and Jake will be walking down the aisle on the series finale of "Private Practice" (Tues., Jan. 22 at 10 p.m. EST on ABC).

When the "Grey's Anatomy" spinoff wraps up after six seasons in early 2013, Addison Montgomery (Kate Walsh) will have her dream wedding with Jake Reilly (Benjamin Bratt), according to TV Guide. "I think it's really beautiful to send her off this way," Walsh told the website.

It's Addison's second marriage -- she was previously married to Derek (Patrick Dempsey) on "Grey's Anatomy," but they divorced after she had an affair with his best friend Mark Sloan (Eric Dane). "She's not a spring chicken, but walking down an aisle is still walking down an aisle," Walsh told TV Guide. "It feels like a very ceremonial moment."

Perhaps that's why Addison's former co-worker at Oceanside Wellness Dr. Naomi Bennett (Audra McDonald) is returning for the series of "Private Practice." The actress left the show in Season 4 to be closer to her family.

Fans of Addison and Sam (Taye Diggs) as a couple might be disappointed to see the show's main character marry Jake, but Diggs seems to be taking it with a grain of salt. Walsh told TV Guide that he jokingly yelled out "Slut!" while she was standing at the altar.

"After all Addison has suffered and struggled with throughout the series -- all the heartache and hardship -- Shonda [Rhimes, the "Private Practice's" creator and showrunner] really wanted to have her find a meaningful relationship and she got to have her child and find a guy that was her match," Walsh told The Hollywood Reporter. "It will be very emotional for fans and very satisfying."

The series finale of "Private Practice," titled "In Which We Say Goodbye," airs on Tuess, Jan. 22 at 10 p.m. EST on ABC.
